Install/live DVD

The combined install/live DVD allows you either to install Ubuntu permanently on a computer, or (by entering 'live' at the boot prompt) to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) install/live DVD

For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.

64-bit PC (AMD64) install/live DVD

Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

先谈点感想：7.10关机速度实在太快了.

我用的是硬盘安装，本身有个xp在c盘，d盘是fat32的，下载alternate的iso放到d盘根目录，
同时到官方镜像的current目录下载vmlinuz和initrd.gz也放到d盘根目录，取出grub4dos的
grldr放在c盘，修改boot.ini,在最后加一行 c:\grldr="grub4dos" （注意timeout需要大于0）
然后重启选择grub4dos,在命令行里面分别输入下面几个命令：
root
kernel (hd1,0)/vmlinuz
initrd (hd1,0)/initrd.gz
boot

hd1,0是我的d盘，如果有不一样对应着改.

然后7.10就直接开始装了，连iso文件位置都不用选，可能因为放一起，自动识别了。

装的时候和以前的没什么区别，我本来就留了20G空间，新建三个区：swap /boot 和/,由于我想试试xfs,但
直接用一个xfs的/，会让grub无法识别/分区，所以分了个小的/boot用ext3, /还是用xfs,这样就不会有问题了。

装好之后的配置也和7.04差不多，对照着7.04的手册做，nv驱动，加软件源，scim都没发现什么问题，
刚才打开totem听歌发现了一个问题，改好音量再点那个按钮它又会恢复成默认的，很轻！把鼠标放
在音量按钮上面不要按，用滚轮就好了，可能是bug.

暂时只是发现7.10的速度又有了提高，特别是关机速度。
